The Fort Worth Writers is a writing group located in Fort Worth Texas that strives to provide a fun, creative environment, where new writers can learn the craft, and more experienced writers can hone their skills. We offer camaraderie, critique, and constructive criticism every week.

Freelance Writers Network has changed it name to Fort Worth Writers. Our web page will reflect that change as soon as our host server had up-dated their software.

FWW would like to congratulate Debbie Gillette on winning an First Place in the Haltom City Public Library's Short Story Contest 2010. Her piece Water Melon Bride can be read in the coming month on Haltom City's Library web site. Congratulations Debbie! (July 2010)

FWW congratulates Nell Noonan on the publication of Not Alone: Encouragement for Caregivers. Not Alone is a collection of 150 devotions. Each devotion features a Bible scripture passage, a personal anecdote, and a prayer. Sometimes funny, often poignant, and always heartfelt. Not Alone offers insight from someone who has "been there too."

FWW would like to congratulate Neena Kahlon on the successful publication of her latest book.  Remembering the Juice Mango shows how a nine year old orphan, Ratna, copes with the trauma caused by the partitioning of India, aided by the love of her adoptive family and her refusal to allow tragedy to control her life.

FWW would like to thank Detective M. J. Carroll for his informative talk on September 25th. Mike is a detective with the Fort Worth criminal investigation division/homicide unit. His presentation was riveting. Not only did we learn a lot, I think we all can sleep more soundly knowing what a great job he does. Thanks Mike!
